A break and enter on Monday in the 3000 block of Matthew Road in Nanoose left one property ransacked, after the homeowner was away for the evening.

Oceanside RCMP said they are especially concerned about 12 guns that were stolen from a safe on the rural property.

Six rifles, four shotguns and two handguns are missing.

Mounties believe the suspects involved were at the residence for some time while the homeowner was away. Police responded after the owner of the rural property reported the incident.

Every room in the house, a shed, outbuildings and a boat and the property were robbed.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Oceanside RCMP at (250) 248-6111 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
