Motorcyclist injured at Canadian Forces test facility in Nanoose Bay

One person was airlifted to a hospital in Victoria after a motorcycle crash in Nanoose Bay.

Oceanside RCMP are investigating a motorcycle crash at the Canadian Forces test facility in Nanoose Bay.

The collision happened on the grounds of the Canadian Forces Maritime Experimental and Test Ranges (CFMETR) at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

Emergency services arrived at the scene just before 7 p.m.

Navy Lt. Tony Wright, a Royal Canadian Navy public affairs officer, says B.C. Ambulance airlifted the person to a hospital in Victoria.

The motorcyclist is a civilian employee of the Department of National Defense.

Wright would not confirm the cause of the crash or if the individual was a man or a woman.

The military police are also investigating the crash.
