A new attraction is coming to Mount Washington.

The Mount Washington Alpine Resort is installing a $3.5 million zipline that will span 2.3 kilometres.

According to Mount Washington Alpine Resort Dean Prentice, the Mount Washington ZipTour will be a multi-stage course with four zipline segments that will include walks in between each.

The vertical descent will be 415 metres and the full tour will take fewer than two hours, Prentice said.

“The ZipTour will make it possible for everyone to experience the beauty and excitement of Mount Washington’s terrain, whether you are an expert skier or not,” Prentice said in a release.

“We are advancing towards our goal of becoming a true year-round destination resort. In 2016 we reopened our lift-accessed Bike Park in which we have witnessed huge visitation growth. Continuing that expansion trend, we are excited to announce the Mount Washington ZipTour is the largest single capital investment into our summer operations in the Resort’s history.”

The course will have two ziplines running parallel to each other so guests can try racing.

Construction is underway and the resort said the ZipTour will open in summer 2019.
