Shawnigan Lake RCMP say a youth cyclist was killed when they were struck by a pick-up truck towing a boat in Mill Bay.

Mounties are now investigating the crash, which took place just after 6:30 p.m. Monday at the corner of Benko Road and Kearny Place in Mill Bay.

Officers attending the scene discovered the cyclist, a Mill Bay resident, was fatally injured and they were prounounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
