A local cancer patient well known around the Greater Victoria area is back in hospital.

Ten-year-old Hannah Day from Sooke is at the BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.

Day’s mom, Brooke Ervin, posted on Facebook, that Day has been violently ill and in severe pain this week. Ervin wrote a CT scan revelaed a number of cancerous tumours in her brain.

Day was airlifted to BC Children’s Hospital Wednesday night. She was diagnosed with cancer as a toddler and her treatment has left her vulnerable to other diseases and cancers. Ervin said this is her third type of cancer and her fifth relapse.

Ervin said she has set up a GoFundMe to ease the financial burden for her family. As of Wednesday afternoon, it has passed its goal of $7,500.
