Young basketball phenom shines for Canada in Pacific Rim Classic

WATCH: Eighteen-year-old R.J. Barrett lead the way for Canada, scoring 21 points on the night to lead the Canadians over China, 108-72 in Victoria on Sunday night.

Barrett, who is the son of former national team player Rowan Barrett, is slated to play college basketball for the powerhouse Duke Blue Devils this fall and is projected as the number one pick for the 2019 NBA Draft. Barrett was surrounded by NBA stars such as Dwight Powell, Dillon Brooks and Kamloops product Kelly Olynyk in the win for Canada.

Canada now heads back out east to prepare for their crucial FIBA World Cup qualifying game against the Dominican Republic on Friday.
