The Monster is coming to Victoria — but it’s all for fun, not scares.
The 300-metre-long inflatable obstacle course — the largest in the world — is set to take over Royal Athletic Park on Caledonia Avenue from June 8-11, when both adult and family-oriented youth sessions will happen over four days.
“The Monster is a huge hit in the UK, with sell-out events across the country since 2017. Our first Canadian city will be bigger and more bonkers than ever before,” states a post on the attraction’s website.
It’s dubbed “the ultimate party playground” of inflatable fun with 42 obstacles, including a “Tunnel of Love,” “The Bouncy Cage of Doom,” and an 18-metre “Mega Slide,” according to the post.
“The fun doesn’t stop once you’ve conquered The Monster. With your adrenaline pumping, you’re bound to have worked up a thirst and a serious appetite — enjoy a wide range of delicious street food, refreshing drinks, craft beers and much more,” it reads, noting live DJs will also be in attendance.
Rifflandia Entertainment, the company behind Rifflandia Festival — the live-music event that returned to Royal Athletic Park last September — is organizing The Monster’s Canadian debut.
Sessions will run through the day in 30-minute blocks, and tickets, ranging from $30 to $35 plus fees depending on age, are available online here.
