Children in Comox have a new structure to play on.

On Friday, the Town of Comox unveiled a brand new play structure at Elks and Royal Purple Park in Kye Bay.

The new structure, which the town describes as “wondrously abstract” features multiple slides as well as unique built-in canopies and was designed to give kids a sense of playing in the treetops and exploring a forest canopy.

“At this new playground children can navigate their way across wiggly bridges, crawl through the 3-ring climber, roar down three slides and so much more,” said Robbie Nall, Town of Comox’s parks manager. “There is a great range of interconnected activities that will spark the imagination and provide for energetic play.”

The playground’s surface has also been redone with Engineered Wood Fiber (EWF) cedar shavings, which the Town of Comox says allows for natural, sustainable, and safe play all while providing access for strollers and walkers.

Elks and Royal Purple Park is located on Windslow Road.
