Vancouver Island is now free of snowfall and freezing rain warnings, according to Environment Canada.

Early Friday morning, Environment Canada posted a snowfall warning for East Vancouver Island, as well as a freezing rain alert for the Malahat highway and Inland Vancouver Island.

By late Friday morning, however, the weather office lifted all three warnings for the Island.

The lingering winter weather is still causing some issues, however.

BC Transit is contending with service disruptions in the Victoria region, and two school districts – the Campbell River School District and the Comox Valley School District – cancelled classes Friday due to poor road conditions and weather.

Meanwhile, other school districts on Vancouver Island are warning families that buses are either cancelled or will see delays because of road conditions.
