Environment Canada has issued wind warnings for Greater Victoria, East Vancouver Island, and West Vancouver Island.

For Greater Victoria and East Vancouver Island, the weather authority is predicting southeast winds 70 km per hour gusting to 90.

West Vancouver Island is expected to have southeast winds 80 km per hour gusting to 100.

Environment Canada says the wind is developing ahead of an approaching weather system, with the winds expecting to ease Monday morning.

“High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break,” the weather warning says. “Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.”
