Environment Canada has issued another wind warning for northern Vancouver Island.

Winds of up to 90 km/h are expected to blow over the northern regions of the Island starting Thursday night into Friday morning.

The winds are expected to ease late Friday afternoon, according to the weather office.

“Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage,” said Environment Canada in its warning Thursday.

“High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches.”

Thursday’s warning capped off a week of wind warnings for various regions of Vancouver Island.

On Wednesday, strong winds were forecast for Greater Victoria. That same day, the region broke a more than 100-year-old weather record.
