Firefighters put out a barn fire near Durrance Lake on April 9, 2019.
A Tuesday morning fire has destroyed a detached barn near Durance Lake.
Firefighters received the call at around 10:53 a.m. Both the Saanich Fire Department and the Willis Point Fire Department responded. Once the fire was under control, the Willis Point Fire Department took over the site. as of 1:30 p.m., they were still putting out hot spots.
The fire was on Durrance Road and was first spotted by a passerby. Firefighters pumped water from Durrance Lake to fight the flames.
No injuries were reported and the Willis Point Fire Department is investigating the cause.
