Fire crews are responding to a wildfire discovered Monday northeast of Loon Lake, east of Port Alberni.
The BC Wildfire Service said Monday night the estimated size of the fire is two hectares.
The blaze is near Highway 4 on the hump and crews are dropping buckets of water on the quickly growing fire, with at least three or four helicopters involved in fighting the fire.
Port Alberni Fire reports the fire is on Loon Lake Road.

BC Wildfire Service says the cause of the fire is unknown.
Although close to Port Alberni and Highway 4, officials say no structures are threatened by the fire as it is between an old railway track and Loon Lake Road and no residents are in that area.
Officials tonight say the wind is pushing the fire uphill away from the city.
