According to the World Health Organization's website, a total of 67,221 deaths from COVID-19 were reported this week, making it the deadliest week on record.

More people died from COVID-19 this week than any other week in recorded history.

According to the World Health Organization’s website, a total of 67,221 deaths from COVID-19 were reported this week, making it the deadliest week on record.

There were also 4,060,891 new cases of the deadly virus reported worldwide this week, the highest one-week tally ever recorded.

The United States reported nearly 10,000 deaths this week, by far the most of any country. Italy and France each reported more than 4,000 deaths while Brazil and India reported more than 3,500 deaths.

Canada’s neighbour also reported the highest number of new cases this week, with 1.47 million new cases, followed by India with 281,227 new cases and Italy 235,979 cases.
