The West Shore RCMP have recovered a firearm after reports of gunshots in the area near Terrahue Road and Metchosin Road in Colwood last week.

Police say they were called to the area around 5:10 p.m. on Thursday.

Officers and police dogs immediately responded and conducted a neighbourhood search.

There were no reports of injuries and police believe it was an isolated incident.

A firearm was recovered but the suspect got away.

Police received reports that a grey, newer model Toyota Tacoma truck drove from Terrahue Road to Metchosin Road, and then onto Lagoon Road at the time of incident, and believe the occupant or occupants inside the truck may be involved.

The truck, pictured below, has a distinctive front push bar.

Police are also requesting homeowners in the area to check surveillance or dashcam video that may have captured the truck or any other suspicious activity on July 13 between the hours of 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

If you recognize this vehicle, or have information that could help police, please call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.
