West Shore RCMP said the attempted robbery occurred on the Galloping Goose trail near the west end of Rowils Crescent in Langford.

West Shore RCMP are looking for a man who allegedly brandished a knife during an attempted robbery on the Galloping Goose trail Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, at around 1 p.m., the attempted robbery occurred on the portion of the trail at the very west end of Rowils Crescent near Glen Lake in Langford. Police said a man was approached by another man who brandished a knife and demanded the victim’s bag.

The man was not physically harmed and called police. He was able to keep his bag as well.

West Shore officers, along with the detachment’s bike unit and police dog service, immediately went to the area to look for the suspect but did not find him. He was last seen running on the boardwalk on Glen Lake.

The suspect is described by police as a black man, 30 to 40-years-old, 6’3″ tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a black hoodie and pants.

Anyone with information on the attempted robbery, or anyone who knows the suspect or knows the whereabouts of the suspect is asked not to approach him and call 911. People can also report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
