West Shore RCMP are investigating after two separate thefts of strollers in the last week.
Officers say a parent living on Whirlaway Cresent in Langford reported that their stroller was stolen from their back patio sometime Friday evening.
It was a black “Thule Urban Glide 2” worth upwards of $850.
On Monday, police say a stroller was taken from the front porch of a residence located on Eaton Avenue in View Royal.
The “Chariot” stroller was a bike attachment and was blue and red in color.
“While we don’t know if these two thefts are related, we view these thefts as a crime of opportunity. We would like to remind parents and caregivers to store their strollers in a secure place as you would with any other high priced item,” said Cst. Saggar of the West Shore RCMP in a statement.
“With the high cost of these items there is a growing market for second-hand purchases and it’s important to prevent stolen items from entering this market.”
Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to contact West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or Crime stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
