Two men have been arrested after they were caught allegedly shoplifting from a store in Langford.

According to West Shore RCMP, officers received reports of two men caught shoplifting at Capitol Iron, at 975 Langford Park Way, on April 28.

Employees at the store attempted to stop the suspects from stealing, according to police.

However, one of the suspects mentioned to the employees that he had a gun and managed to run away.

West Shore RCMP say officers were eventually able to locate the two suspects, 30-year-old John Crawford and 26-year-old Ryan Frankel, and arrested them.

Crawford has been charged with two counts of uttering threats and one count of robbery.

Frankel, according to West Shore RCMP, fought with officers during his arrest. Police also say officers “uncovered a plethora” of drugs on Frankel including methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl, and drug packaging paraphernalia.

The 26-year-old has since been charged with three counts of drug trafficking, and one count of assaulting a police officer.
