A West Shore driver is facing almost $900 in fines for driving without a driver’s license and with expired vehicle insurance, according to RCMP.

West Shore RCMP say officers from its traffic unit pulled over the driver this past weekend, and the vehicle they were driving had not been insured since 2020.

Police say this resulted in fines for the driver, including a $598 ticket for driving with no insurance and a $276 ticket for driving without a driver’s license.

The driver was also served an unlicensed driver prohibition for “repeat unlicensed-driving offences,” said RCMP in a post on X Monday. They say the length of the prohibition “is indefinite until the driver becomes licensed.”

RCMP added that the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, with the owner required to pay tow and impound costs.
