A Vancouver Island hunter who was out looking for antlers captured video of a tense close encounter with a cougar.
Adam Bartsch was shed hunting and setting up trail cameras when he saw a cougar staring at him. It then proceeded to follow the hunter in the video.
According to She Hunts Productions, which posted the video on YouTube, the animal was 15 metres away at one point.
“Look at him, just eyeing me up like I’m a black-tailed deer,” Bartsch said in the video. He then made a noise to try and scare the cougar away.
The video was filmed on a small pocket camera.
