WatchA pod of orcas swim close to Clover Point, searching for food.
A pod of what are believed to be transient orcas swimming in the water off Clover Point delighted people walking along Dallas Road Wednesday.
The animals were seen at around 8:45 a.m.
“I was just about ready to leave when someone mentioned they followed them from the harbour. My god. It makes a day,” Ken Sekhon, an area resident, said.
The orcas were swimming in and out of a kelp bed and keeping fairly close to shore during what appeared to be a seal hunt. A seal remained hidden in the kelp bed and managed to live another day.
