‘It wasn’t a really hard decision’ – New Clippers owner fires long-time Head Coach Mike Vandekamp

WATCH: Despite a solid first half of the season and sitting just one point out of first place in the BCHL’s Island Division, the Nanaimo Clippers have announced that long-time head coach and general manager Mike Vandekamp will no longer be with the team. It’s a move that seems surprising on the surface but behind closed doors, the relationship between owner and coach was doomed from the start.
