Campbell River RCMP have arrested a man wanted on 11 arrest warrants.

Campbell River RCMP have arrested a man wanted on 11 arrest warrants.

Sunday morning, authorities blocked off an area of the 2400 block of Quinsam Road in Campbell River after receiving reports that the wanted man had allegedly barricaded himself in a building in the area.

General Duty officers, Police Dog Services, the Emergency Response Team and Crisis Negotiation were deployed to handle the situation that lasted into the early afternoon.

The 30-year old was arrested on his warrants and remains in custody. His name is not being released at this time as new charges are being investigated.

“The Campbell River RCMP would like to thank the public for their patience and assistance during this situation, ” said Constable Maury Tyre in a release sent out Monday. “We are happy that the incident could be brought to an end without serious injury to anyone involved.”
