Vikes’ men’s basketball team ready to impress local fans

The UVic Vikes men’s basketball team is still in the process of shedding down their roster before the U Sports season begins, and this weekend, the team went to Parkland Secondary School for their annual intrasquad game.

Head Coach Craig Beaucamp has a clustered roster to deal with, and the intrasquad game gave the Vikes’ bench boss a chance to play with some combinations and schemes to try and determine his best roster. While the team is looking to improve from the last few seasons, Beaucamp believes his team will put out an exciting product for local basketball fans.

“I think we’re going to be fun to watch,” Beaucamp says. “I think we’re going to be exciting, I think we’re going to play with pace, and if we can continue to build like we did tonight, and for the next two weeks I think we’re going to be a team that people will want to come out and watch.”
