Debra Thomlinson calls herself a clairvoyant.

“A clairvoyant has the ability to pick up images and pictures and word,” said Thomlinson.

She has shows throughout Vancouver Island and recently launched her own website. She says she has had the psychic gift since she was about six years old and has been exercising it ever since, using her tool of choice taro cards but also reading palms.

On Wednesday, she shared her abilities CHEK News reporter Luisa Alvarez and come February will also be able to share them with some of the biggest stars in Hollywood attending the Oscars.

“This client of mine from five years ago stopped in for a reading and she mentioned that I should actually contact her mom who is the event organizer,” said Thomlinson.

But don’t count on her getting starstruck while meeting the more than 100 celebrities expected to attend the gift room before the event where Thomlinson will be offering her services.

“Everyone is the same in our own realm of our lives they just happen to be someone more famous,” said Thomlinson.

She is one of about 50 vendors that will take part and one of two vendors from B.C.

Thomlinson says what she is most excited about is the unfamiliarity of the people attending.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge of it and to be able to read for people that I’ve never seen before.”

While Thomlinson says she does have an idea about who will leave with an Academy Award she is remaining tight-lipped.

Though did let a hint slip about who could take home best-supporting actor.

“He’s a singer, he is in a movie and I’m going to give one. Royalty that is the word I am going to give to do with the title of the movie,” said Thomlinson.
