Two people were arrested and over a hundred thousand dollars in cash along with drugs and multiple firearms were seized following a recent operation carried out by law enforcement in Greater Victoria.

According to the Victoria Police Department, officers on March 15 along with members of the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT) executed search warrants at residences in the 500-block of Heatherly Road in Colwood and in the 1000-block of Tolmie Street in Victoria.

One man was arrested and his vehicles were also searched by officers.

VicPD says that as a result of those searches, officers seized eight kilograms of drugs, including 1.5 kilograms of fentanyl, 3.5 kilograms of cocaine, and three kilograms of methamphetamine. Also seized were eight rifles, one handgun, magazines, ammunition and more than $105,000 in cash.

Then on March 16, VicPD officers and GVERT members arrested a woman associated with the man and executed a search warrant on a suite in a multi-unit residential building in the 800-block of Fort Street.

VicPD says officers seized additional “trafficking level” quantities of fentanyl.

Both suspects have since been released pending further investigation. VicPD says investigators will be recommending drug trafficking charges against both the man and woman.
