The Victoria Police Department has arrested a man and seized cash, drugs, and a vehicle during a Strike Force operation that targeted drug trafficking across Greater Victoria last week

According to VicPD, Strike Force officers stopped a vehicle at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday Sept. 1 in the 4700-block of Sooke Road and arrested a man who had been the target of an investigation since late July. Police note that the man they arrested had connections to the Lower Mainland organized crime group.

In searching the vehicle following the man’s arrest, police found quantities of drugs and cash consistent with a drug trafficking operation, seizing them along with the vehicle itself.

The vehicle — a 2005 BMW 330 — will be submitted for civil forfeiture.

Strike Force and GVERT officers subsequently executed search warrants in Saanich at a multi-unit residential building in the 900-block of Edge Place and a residence in the 4300-block of Torquay Drive, seizing more drugs and cash as well.

In total, VicPD says that Strike Force officers seized nearly 350 grams of cocaine, over 260 grams of methamphetamine, nearly 100 grams of fentanyl and nearly $22,000 in cash. According to police, the amount of drugs that were seized equates to a street value of over $60,000.

The suspect, a 24-year-old Victoria man, faces several recommended drug trafficking charges.
