Victoria Police seek witnesses after dump truck collides with woman on scooter

The Victoria Police Department is asking the public for any witnesses after a dump truck collided with a woman on a mobility scooter last week.

The incident took place at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 3 at the intersection of Bay Street and Bridge Street.

Officers received a report about the collision and attended the scene where they found the woman had been pinned under the dump truck.

Bystanders, as well as the truck driver, assisted the woman with emergency first aid before authorities arrived.

The woman was eventually from under the dump truck and BC Emergency Health Services paramedics transported her to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

VicPD officers say they are continuing to gather information regarding this incident and are reaching out to the public to ask anyone who witnessed the collision to contact police.

This file remains under investigation.
