Victoria police say a man is accused of threatening then spitting on a BC Transit bus driver Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

Police in Victoria are looking for a man who allegedly threatened and spat on a bus driver last week.

The incident happened at around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 1 when a BC Transit driver stopped to pick up a passenger near Fort and Ashgrove streets, near Royal Jubilee Hospital.

According to police, the passenger “immediately became confrontational” with the bus driver and threatened to stab him.

“The passenger then moved around the plexiglass barrier on the bus and spat on the driver’s face before leaving the area,” police said.

The man is described as being 25 to 25 years old, white, with a medium build and was reportedly wearing a dark hat and dark jacket.

Police have provided a surveillance image of the man in hopes someone will recognize him.
