Victoria police are asking a witness of a crash in Esquimalt that sent a man to hospital last week to come forward.
Officers were called to the intersection of Selkirk Avenue and Tillicum Road just before 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 19. for a report of a two-vehicle crash.
Paramedics were already on scene when officers arrived treating a man for non-life-threatening but potentially life-altering injuries and he was taken to hospital, according to police.
Investigators say the collision was caught on dashcam video and they are now looking for the driver of a white Mercedes SUV who was present but left without speaking to officers. Witnesses reported the driver to be female.
“Officers believe that this driver has key i nformation needed for the investigation,” Victoria police said in a news release.
VicPD has provided a still image of the Mercedes SUV in hopes someone will recognize it.
