Victoria police say they are looking for a man and a vehicle after an officer was injured by an alleged impaired driver Sunday.

Police said the incident happened in a parking lot in the 3100-block of Douglas Street.

VicPD put out two tweets about the collision on Tuesday, saying when an officer arrived on scene, a man woke up in his vehicle and attempted to flee, “ramming the police car in the process of getting away.”

According to police, the officer received non-life threatening injuries and was not able to return to work.

The suspect and the suspect’s vehicle have not been located.

Police have not released a description of the vehicle but wrote that anyone with information can call them at 250-995-7654.
