Victoria Police investigating three suspicious garbage fires Thursday

Victoria Police says its major crimes unit is investigating three suspicious fires in dumpster bins and garbage cans Thursday night.

Victoria Fire says one of the fires took place close to a paint store near Hillside Avenue and Fifth Street.

Flames could be seen in a recycling bin, and the fire was put out after firefighters removed the contents from the bin and placed them on the ground.

Another blaze happened in the 700-block of Government Street, at Belleville Street, and a fire was set at Johnson Street and Douglas Street.

Police say there are no injuries.
