The Victoria Police Department is investigating an alleged assault with a weapon that took place in Centennial Square during the early hours of Monday morning.

The Victoria Police Department is investigating an alleged assault with a weapon that took place in Centennial Square during the early hours of Monday morning.

According to a VicPD press release, officers responded to a call at approximately 4:30 a.m. on July 6 after receiving a report about a man who was suffering from potentially life-threatening injuries.

Police said that upon arriving at Centennial Square, they found that the man had been the victim of an assault with a weapon. Authorities have yet to reveal what type of weapon was used.

The man was taken to hospital, with his injuries now being considered non-life-threatening, said police.

Police added that they have not made any arrests in connection with this incident.

An investigation has been launched and is currently ongoing.
