Victoria police arrest two suspects in Esquimalt violent armed robbery case

Victoria police have arrested two Esquimalt residents in connection with a violent armed robbery at Saxe Point Park last month.

The robbery, which involved a firearm, occurred at the park at around 8:30 p.m. on April 28. One victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. They were transported to hospital, treated, and released.

Police said a man and a youth were taken into custody in Esquimalt at around 4 p.m. on May 9. The arrests came after multiple search warrants were executed.

Officers also recovered a stolen vehicle, as well as imitation and real firearms. Police believe the robbery was an isolated one.

Victoria police are still investigating and additional search warrants are expected to be executed in the next few days.
