A man has been arrested following an incident at an apartment complex near Hillside Avenue.
Victoria Police officers responded to a BC Housing complex in the 2600-block of Dowler Place — near Hillside Avenue and Blanshard Street — following reports of an incident allegedly involving a firearm at around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.
An officer on scene told CHEK News dozens of heavily armed attended the scene and confronted a man who was allegedly carrying a firearm.
The suspect had been running from the police and forced his way into one of the units within the complex, the officer noted.
Shortly afterwards, the suspect surrendered.
A spokesperson for the department later confirmed with CHEK News that a man was arrested in connection with the incident but did not provide any further information.
There were no reports of any injuries.
