A 35-year-old Victoria man faces numerous charges after police officers seized 60 exhibits from a Saanich home last month.

Victoria police got a report of stolen tools that had been posted on a local buy and sell website on Jan. 20.

The investigation was turned over to the Crime Reduction Unit, who discovered a number of stolen items were located by the same seller and a search warrant was conducted with the help of Saanich police Jan. 24.

The man has been released on a promise to appear.

Officers found stolen tools, paint sprayers, identification and credit cards and more than $2,500 of counterfeit American money.

Recommended charges include trafficking stolen property under $5,000, possession of stolen property for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of identity, credit card and counterfeit money.

A motor vehicle act charge is also recommended.
