Fire crews responded to a structure fire at Dodd’s furniture and Mattress when they arrived they discovered a planter smoldering on the roof of Victoria Surgery Ltd.
“A wood box was burning a little bit but our guys put it out quickly,” said Battalion Chief Gary Birtwistle.
The cause is unknown but Birtwistle says it was likely a cigarette butt.
Three engines, a rescue truck, and a ladder truck responded. Traffic control also temporarily blocked east bound traffic on Finlayson st.
The scene has been cleared.
