Victoria crews called to two suspicious fires on same street in just 15 minutes

Arson is suspected after Victoria crews were called to two separate fires on the same street in just 15 minutes on Wednesday night.

At 9:40 p.m, they arrived at a residence at 3170 Alder Street to find a detached garage with a vehicle inside fully involved.

Crews knocked down the fire quickly but there appears to be significant damage to the garage and vehicle, and some to the house.

At 9:25, they’d responded to a vehicle fire, also on Alder Street near Reed.

A camper parked next to a low-rise apartment building suffered what appears to be minor damage.

The area is north of Finlayson and east of Blanshard.

Victoria Fire say a fire inspector will work determine the exact cause of the fires.
