A popular Mother’s Day event returned to Victoria for its 40th Anniversary following two years of being forced online due to the pandemic.

The Victoria Conservatory of Music held its Mother’s Day musical garden tour this weekend.

Attendees strolled through 10 different private gardens across Victoria while enjoying music from students and faculty of the conservatory.

“Every garden has its story and so we just curate music to go with it and just make it you know a musical garden story,” said Stephen Green, dean of the Victoria Conservatory of Music.

While the event is a great way to celebrate moms, it also raises essential funds for the VCM.

“This makes up for that gap in making sure that our programs are accessible. We have about a 30 per cent gap in our budget that we fill every year with great help from fundraising and so this is our major fundraiser,” said Green.

Founded in 1964, the non-profit inspires musicians through education, performance and music therapy.
