Victoria police are asking the public to keep an eye out for a wanted man who may be in Greater Victoria.

Police are searching for Christian Richardson, 45, who is wanted for fraud over $5,000.

In a release Friday, VicPD said Richardson was believed to be in the Greater Victoria or Whistler areas.

He’s described as a Caucasian man who stands 5’9” tall with a heavy build. He has light brown hair and blue eyes, and generally uses public transit or ride-share services to travel, according to VicPD.

Richardson has a long history of fraud-related charges.

In 2018, Burnaby RCMP said Richardson was suspected of using the dating app Grindr to scam victims on the mainland, as reported by the CBC.

Anyone who spots Richardson is asked to call 911, Victoria police say. Otherwise, anyone with information on his whereabouts can call VicPD at 250-995-7654 extension 1, or anonymously contact Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
