VicPD Major Crime Detectives continue to search for witnesses after two women in their 60s were the victims of a random assault.

The women suffered serious injuries when they were attacked by an unknown man while waiting for a taxi near Broad and Johnson around 2:45 a.m. on March 26th.

The suspect is described as an Indigenous man in his early 20’s.

He was wearing a T-shirt with a graphic, black windbreaker, dark blue jeans and a dark baseball cap with a flat brim.

The investigation revealed that the suspect had been inside the nearby Paparazzi nightclub earlier that night.

Police say he used the name “CJX” and sang a duet with a man by the name of Royce while at the club.

Investigators are hoping to speak with Royce, who is described as an older man with grey hair and a beard.
