VicPD probe sudden death of woman in downtown Victoria

Investigators are looking for witnesses and information after a woman suddenly died on Wharf Street Wednesday morning.

Officers received a report from BC Emergency Health Services paramedics just after 10 a.m. that a female was in medical distress in the 1200-block of Wharf Street.

After receiving medical treatment, the woman died on scene, according to Victoria police.

ISD detectives and officers from the VicPD Forensic Identification Service are continuing to investigate, as is the BC Coroners Service.
