VicPD officers came to the rescue of several ducklings in distress in Esquimalt on Tuesday afternoon.
It all began when a mother duck was walking along Craigflower Road towards Gorge Kinsmen Park with 11 ducklings in tow.
VicPD says some of them then fell into a drain and got stuck.
Officers arrived and removed the little ones from the grate and tried to reunite them with their mother.
Eventually, one of them rejoined the flock, but she did not take to the other duckling, who VicPD say was adopted by another duck family.
