VicPD make arrest after passenger on BC Transit bus claims to have weapon

VicPD respond to reports of passenger claiming to have gun on BC Transit bus

VicPD took one person into custody late Tuesday afternoon after a passenger on BC Transit bus reportedly uttered threats and claimed to have a gun.

It happened on Quadra Street near the Crystal Pool around 5:30 p.m.

BC Transit says police took one person into custody.

No one was injured.

A stretch of Quadra was closed while the incident unfolded.

BC Transit says three buses were involved in the investigation and a number of passengers faced delays.

Police also spoke to several who had witnessed the incident.

BC Transit is commending the driver of the bus as well as the transit supervisor group and VicPD for securing the scene and ensuring the safety of the passengers.
