Victoria police say they are looking for witnesses after an early-morning arson at a luxury condo construction site.

Police said just after 1 a.m. Thursday morning, VicPD and the Victoria Fire Department was called to a fire at the construction site for the Customs House building at 816 Government Street.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire. Police said the fire is considered suspicious and they believe it was deliberately set.

No injuries were reported but some equipment was damaged at the site. The cost of the damage could be tens of thousands of dollars, police said.
