VicPD said surveillance video shows a person of interest and a vehicle associated with him, in connection with a kitten that was found in a shaving bag in a garbage can at Hillside mall.

Victoria police and Victoria Animal Control Services say they are looking for person of interest after a kitten was found trapped in a shaving case in a garbage can at Hillside Shopping Centre.

The kitten, who has been dubbed “Lily,” was found by Brian Boria on June 4. He was on his morning shift when he found her in a shaving kit bag in the garbage can.  She was then taken to a vet for treatment.

Victoria police said they were contacted about the incident on June 6 and have gone through CCTV footage in the area. Officers have found a person of interest in the footage and think that man may have information on what happened to the kitten.

The man was wearing a dark-coloured hoodie, jeans and white shoes. Police said he was noticeably hunched over. He is associated to a dark grey vehicle, possibly a 2010 Ford Escape.

Police have also shared a short video of the man.

Anyone who has information or knows who the man is can call VicPD at 250-995-7654.

Lily is currently recovering and will be up for adoption in three to four weeks. Victoria Animal Control Services (VACS) said hundreds of people have already expressed interest.
