VicPD arrest man after threats against COVID-19 testing facilities

One man was arrested Friday after he allegedly made threats against COVID-19 testing facilities in Greater Victoria.

Police said early Friday morning, a man made threats against COVID-19 testing facilities after calling the 811 HealthLink BC line.

The suspect was arrested by Saanich police just after 12 p.m. on Friday. VicPD say the man is in custody.

According to police, Victoria police officers and officers from other departments across Greater Victoria went to various public health facilities around the area and spoke with staff to make sure everyone was safe.

VicPD said officers continued to attend and check-in at the various facilities. No injuries or further incidents have been reported.
