Vic High looks to return to basketball glory

CHEK

The Vic High Totems were once a powerhouse in BC High School basketball. Led by head coach Porky Andrews, the school captured numerous Island and Provincial Championships in the 1960’s, and carried that success up until the late 1990’s. But in the early 2000’s the school’s basketball program reached an all-time low, struggling to even put together a team. Fast forward to today, and the Totems have re-emerged on the Island basketball scene as a serious contender to qualify for the AAA Sr. Boys Basketball Provincial Championships. A feat the school has not achieved since 1996.
