Vehicle of missing Saanich Peninsula man in Vernon Monday, RCMP confirm

Sidney/North Saanich RCMP say the car of one of two people reported missing Monday was seen that day in Vernon.

Police are still investigating the disappearance of 36-year-old Easha Rayel and 23-year-old James Evans, who were last seen in the Saanich Peninsula August 9.

RCMP confirmed Evans’ blue 2002 BMW 325i was in Vernon Aug. 12, with B.C. license plate DH028G.

The families of both Rayel and Evans reported them missing to Sidney/North Saanich RCMP and say the length of time they have been missing is out of character for both of them.

“We would like to encourage anyone with information, no matter how large or small, to contact the RCMP,” Sidney/North Saanich RCMP Cst. Meighan de Pass said in a statement.

“We do not monitor social media and posting your information on Facebook or a similar platform does not ensure it reaches us.”

Rayel is described by police as a white woman, who is around 5’7″ tall and weighs 120-pounds.

She has shoulder-length brown hair and green eyes.

Police say Evans is a white man, who is around 5’6″ tall and weighs 140-pounds.

He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information, especially anyone in Vernon or surrounding Okanagan area is asked to call Sidney/North Saanich RCMP at 250-656-3931.
