Vancouver Islanders remember, reflect on Alex Trebek’s legacy

Vancouver Islanders welcomed Alex Trebek, Canadian-American host of “Jeopardy!” into their living rooms for 36 years.

Whether it was their parents, grandparents, or themselves who turned the show on, many Islanders grew up watching it.

Today, they look back fondly on their memories of the iconic game show host.

Trebek passed away peacefully in his home Sunday morning, at the age of 80, according to a Tweet from the show’s official account.

He was battling Stage 4 pancreatic cancer, announcing his diagnosis in March of 2019.

He leaves behind his wife Jean Currivan and their two children.

Alex Trebek hosted Jeopardy for decades and became a household name and felt like a member of the family for millions around the world. (CHEK video file)
